Checked out of the hotel and met Ryan and Mark for lunch at some super crummy BBQ place. Awful stuff. Got into Orlando early and had a little bit of time to kill. My parents moved to the Orlando area this past November so they came to today’s demo and were already at the park when I arrived. My Mom was so excited to be there. It brought back a lot of memories of her taking me to skate demo and contests when I was little. It’s weird to think that in 1988 she drove me to see Mike skate at a demo in Rochester where we started this tour. I was 14 then and Mike had just turned 18. Now I’m 30 and he’s 33 and were on tour together. The crowd was pretty small and didn’t cheer alot. I think an annoucer at these demos to help get the crowd hyped would be a good thing. Today’s entire demo mix was Metallica for 2 hours. I thought the park was really good and I got some good footage. After the autographs and the free product hand outs we squeezed in time to have dinner with my parents despite our huge drive up to Nashville. We ate at a local Chili’s and then said goodbye to my parents. It was fun to see them, it had been a little over a year since the last time. Mom passed off some home baked cookies to me before I slipped back into the van. We drove untill about 4 in the morning and got a hotel somewhere near Atlanta.
